Itinerary

Day 1 – Kruger National Park (D) (Lunches own account).

We meet our guests at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo Airport, from where the Kruger Park Safari travels east via Mpumalanga and the towns of Ladenburg and Ohrigstad to Hoedspruit, and on to Orpen Gate, gateway to the central Kruger National Park. The Satara area is well known for its open savanna and high densities of plains game, which in turn support many of the park’s lion prides and other large predators that frequent the surrounding grasslands and waterholes.

After entering the park, your safari effectively begins as animals may be encountered within minutes of passing through the gate. From Orpen, the journey continues toward Satara Rest Camp, where guests are assisted with check-in and can settle into their national park accommodation. Some time is set aside to relax and absorb the bush atmosphere before heading out on a late afternoon game drive in the Satara area, capitalizing on the prime hours when predators are often most active near the roads and riverlines.

Overnight: Kruger National Park Rest Camp (Dinner)

Day 2 – Kruger National Park (B, D)

Wake up to the magnificent sounds and smell of fresh African air, ready to explore Kruger National Park on safari. Alongside your guide, you head towards the sunrise, hopeful that you might spot the special white rhino or the elusive leopard!

After your morning adventure, you return to the lodge, where the aroma of a delicious breakfast welcomes you. After lunch and siesta, it is time for the second game drive of the day. Refreshed and recharged, you are eager to discover new species and areas of the reserve. Watching the mesmerizing sunset over the reserve, you enjoy snacks and drinks. When the drive comes to an end, you return to the lodge, filled with memories of another incredible day.

Overnight: Kruger National Park Rest Camp (Breakfast & Dinner included).

Day 3 – Kruger National Park (B-D)

Today is the day that we pack up early and conducts a final drive in the central region before the safari tracks south through the park to Lower Sabie Rest Camp.

Early mornings are among the best times to encounter wildlife, as predators are often still active, and many animals are moving to or from water before the heat of the day. This gives you the opportunity to experience a variety of habitats and vegetation types, which usually means slightly different game viewing opportunities.

Overnight: Kruger National Park Rest Camp (Breakfast & Dinner included).

Day 4 – Kruger Park (B-D)

The focus of this day of your safari is on morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five and the many other species that inhabit southern Kruger. The landscape around Lower Sabie combines forest, grassland and mixed woodland, offering ideal conditions for elephant, buffalo and large antelope. Along the river, pods of hippo share the water with crocodiles, while the adjacent bush hides leopard and other predators that move silently through the drainage lines.

Between drives, there is time to relax at camp, watch animal activity along the river and listen to the calls of African fish eagles, hippos and nocturnal wildlife as evening falls.

Overnight: Kruger National Park Rest Camp (Breakfast and Dinner included).

Day 5 – Kruger Park – Johannesburg – Last Day (B)

The final morning begins before sunrise when your guide wakes you for a last game drive in the productive southern reaches of the park. You may revisit favourite areas along the Sabie River or explore a new route, maximizing your chances of memorable final sightings before leaving Lower Sabie behind.

Following the morning game drive, you return to camp for breakfast and a short time to freshen up before departing the park. The journey back to the Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport retraces parts of the route through the Mpumalanga region, offering final views of the Lowveld landscapes that define Kruger’s unique setting. Expected arrival in Johannesburg is around 16:00 – 17:00. Guests can also be dropped off that the Nelspruit Airport for a flight to Johannesburg or Cape Town.
